Corsair 850W TX can handle it no problem. If you were talking a 700/650W with adapters, then no. wink.gif

Do GTX 480 tend to top out around 900-910 core on air?

Got two binned non reference 480s atm, MSI 480 Lightning and Gigabyte 480 SOC. Both can do 900 core around same voltage ( 1.1V) no problem but when I push past 910 core, no matter the voltage I can't seem to stabilize the clocks.

900 core on air is pretty much topped out on air.

You have very good cards man.

Yea, I should probably be thankful, got really lucky with the price on this card. Took me less then 30 minutes to get 900 core after installation

I'm just wondering if its an architectural bottleneck for gf100 chips. 900 core 1.1 V easy but to go 915 core even 1.15V fails

Could be 70'C stable @ 900 core but 75'C @ 915core would be unstable for example.

Try setting your fans to 100% and see if 915 core is doable.

You guys think it'd be worth it to go from a 460 to two 470's or 480's in SLI? I was originally planning on getting two 570's but the 470's/480's are much cheaper and would still max out everything.

Upgrade from that 500W power supply FIRST!
