Well, after a string of undersight on my part, addicted to an OLD ass game, and shear bad luck, I ended up getting an nvidia gtx 470.
I play EverQuest, yeah, that 11 year old game.
I need a good graphics card to boost the FPS lag while raiding. I thought that EQ supported Crossfire, but it does not, so I ended up ditching my Crossfire 5770's for a 5850 card. The same day I brought the 5850 card home, I noticed a hint of the dreaded "magic smoke", and then the PC hung with a grey screen. Benchmarks were unstable, yadda yadda, it was a MESS. I spent 5 hours trying to make sure I wasn't going crazy, and finally, decided to go grab a GTX 470 card last night in the 11th hour of the store being opened.
Anyhow, that's how I ended up with one, and so far I've been pretty happy with it. I haven't overclocked it yet, but here is a screenshot of my info.
It's a PNY XLR8 GTX 470
