Umm, I think you want to reinstall you drivers from scratch. Also make sure you system is stable. Something is really wrong here. Could also be your card but as always thats the last you want to suspect.

sorted it now just reset computer. only just got my new mobo from rma and just plugged in my gtx480


is mine a newer bios? seems to be a higher number than some ive looked at


EDIT sorry was looking at gtx470 on first few pages

It's a newer BIOS that EVGA released about a month back. I updated to the same one. Just seems to run a few degrees cooler than the older one, that's about it.

ive got my gtx480 hooked up to my tv and monitor. the sound and desktop is on the tv but nothing else. no mouse icons or anything. restarted a few times still the same.

Play around with Display Properties. You probably have it set to extended desktop. You might have to connect a second monitor to configure the TV as the primary and single display and then unplug the monitor once done.

i think it is set to extend when i did a print screen earlyer it was both screens in one. cant find the option tho. i can get it to work on just the tv or monitor but not together. tvs not that good just want to watch films on it

So what kind of a display setup are looking for here? Two screens or just one? Extended or cloned?

2 screens clone. i can get it to work with a vga cable but not the hdmi. but if i use the vga cable i get no sound lol
