Official NVIDIA GTX400 Series Owners Thread - Page 84

Received my GTX 480 today. MSI N480GTX

Could get 865/1930/2150 with 1.075 vcore but I've decided to back down a bit due to suspicious PSU behavior.

I will not be including GTS400 series cards in this thread when they release. With the next release of a GTX400 series video card, this thread will officially be changing it's name to "Official NVIDIA GTX400 Series Owner Thread" (as seen in my signature). You may feel free to edit the signature code to have it appear so now but this is not yet an official change.

I suggest if you can do it, to take the card back and get and EVGA or and Asus or something that you an trust. I personally only buy EVGA because of the amazing warranty they have. Being a guy who RMA's quite a bit (especially RAM kits LOL) it's worth it to have a good warranty on your video card if you O/C the crap out of everything like we do.
thanks, it was because everyone on stock cooling in the 470 vantage scores thread had memory OCs of over 1800... does flashing to one of the overvolt bioses help with overclocking, or does it simply allow more voltage = more heat?

huh. wow. the whole fermi architecture just earned a lot more respect from yours truly.

so i sat down to play some Just Cause 2 this morning, forgetting that i re-installed the steam client. which removed the command line operator that tells the game to render on my 5970's.

so i began playing but noticed it started drawing on my little pos temp monitoring screen.

Dark Tower Benchmark

i am very pleased with this. the little meager GTX 465 can play JC2 maxed at 1280x1024 with respectable FPS

and to all you people that say holy crap thermi. i saw a max of 76C while the little GF100 die was pegged at 98%

i even have a mild oc from stock 600 something to 650 core and 1300 shader.

overall im very impressed by this card i picked up for 229.99 on the egg.

Oh yeah, forgot to post here! I'm in like Flynn with my wonderful GTX 460

So far I've gotten it as high as 830/1000Mhz with stock voltage. I'm having issues getting voltage control to work with Afterburner... But I'll get it yet!

Shaders are bugged in GPU-Z

That is so not true, there's nothing wrong w/Galaxy. In fact, along with Asus and Sapphire (and sometimes Palit I guess), they're the only ones out there doing any real innovating as partners. I like Galaxy, they are a cool company.

BTW, I had 3 EVGA GTX470's, and the memory OC'd for crap on all of them (and one of my 480's is the same way). The problem with memory OC'ing badly is VERY common with Fermi cards. The dude's problem there is NOT because it's a Galaxy.
