Guys I really need your help

Thread Starter
Well i finally got all the parts i needed for my dream pc. Here is what im running

Amd Athlon x2 3800
ASus a8n-sli mobo
256 e-geforce pci-e
2 gb patriot value ram
250 gig hd
dvr-110 pioneer

Once i finally put everything together i noticed that the video card needed two male power supply hookups in order to function to maximum power. I only one male plug free so i quickly modded a splitter turning that male to female to two males to hook into the video card. I booted up the system for the first time and everything loaded. I installed xp and got it running and its just running soo slow. To actually turn the computer on it takes like 5 minutes and when were finally in xp i cant even seem to run anything from the dvd drive. I installed windows 2 times now and its the same story. I have no idea what could be wrong.

At first i thought that my psu was being drained too much by dividing soo much of the power but then i unpluged those pwr cables just to see what would happen and everything acted the same. My psu is at 14 amps at +12v.
Im running out of ideas and my $1,000 pc is running like a ****n pentium 1 on windows 98 first edition.

Im at my witts end, if anybody can give me some helpful clues and anything to check i will definantly do but im just GRRR soo ****n mad and frustrated.

Please
Help

could be a psu, but I dont think a psu would make your computer run that slow..if it's taking 5 minutes to boot, that is a HD problem..
Make sure you setup your bios correctly with your hard drive, and make sure the jumper setting on the HD is correct..
Update to the latest bios for your mobo.

Figured it out, the dvdr drive pin was pushed in. Dont ask me how or why it happened but it was pushed into the actual back of the dvdr casing itself, pulled it out as much as a could and put it in and everything booted.

Now on to overclockin
