Cheap PC2700 ram oc'ing

Thread Starter
Just wondering if my RAM would be ok running at 180mhz. I want to OC my cpu to 2508 (228*11) but with the ram at ddr333 or 166 it would be at 180. I can turn it down to ddr266 133 but then it would be underclocked to 147. The motherboard is the one in my sig so for memory frequency you can only choose from 133, 166 or 200. Any settings etc. would be appreciated or just if you could tell me if my ram would be ok runnig at this speed..thanks

i have pc2700

i went from 166 to 200 WITHOUT PUSHING UP THE VOLTAGE

and my computer didnt boot,
going to 180 should be fine, just remember to push up the voltage,
and one more thing 2.8v is safe, 3.1v is dangerous. so keep it under 3.1
cant complain..

I have a 512 stick of Simpletech PC2700 ram. Its in an ABit NF7 s ver2 board running with an AMD XP Mobile 2600. I have this chip running 200x12.5 for 2.5 ghz and the ram is running 1:1, or at 200 mhz with 2.8 vdimm. So depending on your ram it is possible that you can run it up to 200, and 180 should be obtainable. But this is my experience. All you can do is try it and see.
