There was a chart that showed performance increase for changing video cards... it didn't have the 6800GS, but since yours is unlocked, it's basicly a GT. If my memory doesn't fail me (which it usually does ) I think that was something on the order of 27% increase in performance.

Just to clear some things up

But get back on topic, please.
Let me guess...u put it on max in css which is x6AA? Nvidia don't support x6AA just x2,x4,x8. Stick it on x4AA in game and u'll see it working fine.

Same solution as above...just put it on x4AA in game, no need to change anything manually on the driver level

In response to the original post, getting a 7800GT will mean jumping from playable to smooth (40fps) in a new game like Age of Empires 3 based on the benches here http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/...iii/page5.html.

The 1800XL gets beaten by 10fps a lot but I suspect those benches are all OpenGL anyway (which Nvidia get better performance on). Look at some DirectX benches and see if they can sway you to an X1800XL, also consider whether u play OpenGL or DirectX games more.
