i have an E 5300 2.6 ghz in my hand and i'm wondering
will i gain anything from it
my current is pentium D 930 @3.6ghz, 960MHz bus

yes it will be much more of a benifit because of never architecture and its an actuall dual core and i will run cooler with better OC'ing capbilities

I had a Pentium D 830 and I noticed quite a difference going to an E2180, which is less powerful than the E5300 you plan on upgrading to. It's faster, runs cooler, and overclocks better.

They just can't be compared.

The E5300 is MUCH faster than the Overclocked pentium D.
