I've got a Logitech G5 (the one with two side buttons) and it's easily the best mouse I've owned. Logitech is the only brand of mice I'll buy now (had an mx500, still have a blue mx510, and the G5).

Razer Mamba, hands down.

Ive used Logitech, Razer, and Steelseries mice, and out of all the optical and laser mice ive tried, the Mamba has been the best.

I love my Logitech G9. The G9x is newer but only has a bit more DPI and you can get the G9 for ~$50 online

<3 my G9.

Everyone will suggest a mouse that they prefer. But in the end, it depends on what feels more comfortable to you. I'd suggest you check out the mice in a store so you can get a feel on the size and shape.

I'm using a Razer Copperhead, as much as I love it, I don't really like it...do the Logitech MX518 still cut it for gaming?

I had just a regular $20 Microsoft mouse and I now have a Logitech MX518 and there is a big difference, especially in FPS games. I couldn't believe it. I would get the MX518 its the best mouse I have ever used. Especially the software it comes with, like being able to set your own DPI settings for every game. Look at the Newegg reviews of it also, there are over 2,000 people that bought it.

Its all preference. Some hardcore gamers use the basic intellimouse. For the longest time I used the MS wheelmouse. But when that busted I thought I try the Razor deathadder. I loved it.

Having a gaming mouse is NOT A MUST HAVE. Any good mouse that you find comfortable is good. A gaming mouse MAY give you the slight edge in some situations with faster refresh and higher dpis.

...Its like driving an econo car vs a sports car. They both get you there, but the sports car feels nice, looks nice, and most times can get you there faster

And if you are looking for a "gaming mouse", then if you like the MS instellimouse/wheelmouse style. Get the deathadder. If you like the logitech MX style, try the Steelseries Ikari.
