This. I love my DeathAdder.

It all depends on how you feel with the mouse you choose. It really does come down personal preference. Myself, I've been using an MX518 for close to 4 years now (the same one at that) and it still performs flawlessly. That being said, I've heard the newer Logitech G9 is a great mouse and it has an interchangeable back plate thingy.

The MX518/G5 look quite different from the G9. I think this is mainly do to grip styles. If you have a palm grip look at a MX518 or G5. If you have a claw grip look at the G9.

+1 for MX 518. Mine's 4 years old and still going strong.

You know the whole stay away from wireless debate get's old also and it is always perpetuated by someone who has not tried a decent wireless mouse for gaming. If your receiver is on your desktop along with your mouse you WILL NOT suffer the connectivity issues that rf mice had in their infancy. Better yet bluetooth, sure your os will want to reject it if you install 3rd party drivers (ie setpoint) but let Windows control the process and it is smooth sailing.

Everyone will suggest a mouse that they prefer. But in the end, it depends on what feels more comfortable to you. I'd suggest you check out the mice in a store so you can get a feel on the size and shape.
EXACTLY! Settled on a Logitech Performance MX personally. I love the 518 but it is much to small for my hands like most mice. The only flaw the performance mx suffers is dpi range in comparison to the copperhead/boomslang. There is no perfect mouse unfortunately, simply models we have not tried.

MX518. I had one for years and for a change went through quite a number of high end mice. I ended up back with another MX518 again.

It's comfortable, works well and has solid button layout.
