Someone said 500hz polling...forget that. 1ms ultra polling is what you want for quick responsiveness.

I know this is an old thread but I have to add:

Loved the Deathadder, then the laser AND the right click went out 2 months after the warranty expired, and customer service brushed me off. After researching reviews, I read that often something breaks soon after the warranty expires. Talk about planned obsolescence. If you're ok with replacing a mouse every 2 years at this price and you're not a claw gripper, then this is the mouse to get. It was a joy in the hand while it lasted.

Just bought a Cyborg R.A.T. 7. I'm loving it.

Necro'ing a necro'ed thread again.... I wouldn't buy too much into this. I am sorry for your experience, and there are many isolated incidences with many mice, if not all. However, I am way past my warranty and my Razer Deathadder is not only still kicking, but doing well.

however, always remember - ymmv.

Had my deathadder for years. Only recently has the scroll wheel started to get a bit funky during gaming. Might see about replacing it if it gets worse.

MX518 and G500. Yes, I own both. Switched to g500 a year ago after 5 years of MX518. Both AMAZING, and the mx518.. You can throw that thing against the wall, beat it up, and it'll still work.
