Let me break it down for you:

2.4A(E) - fsb: 533mhz (133x4), L2 cache: 1MB (1024kb), Core: Prescott

2.4B - fsb: 533mhz (133x4), L2 cache: 512kb, Core: Northwood

2.4C - fsb: 800mhz (200x4) (HT), L2 cache: 512kb, Core: Northwood

Ok, let me make this perfectly clear for everybody. When I or somebody else says 2.4C or 2.4B the letter doesn't refer to your stepping, it refers to your processor specs..

2.4A(E) = 533FSB / Prescott / 1MB L2 Cache
2.4B = 533FSB / Northwood / 512K L2 Cache
2.4C = 800FSB / Northwood / 512k L2 Cache

Now in my opinion, the OC ranks to me would be 2.4C > 2.4A > 2.4B

Now talking about your stepping, that's a whole different story.. Your processor is a 2.4B, and your stepping is C1. Now, that stepping is a really poor OCing stepping, along with the processor itself.

LOL ckp64!

2.4C > 2.4A > 2.4B
is true, until you reach a clock speed
+4ghz, then:

2.4A > 2.4C (2.4B will not reach 4ghz)

At 4ghz: Im guessing this is true because the 2.4A will have a fsb of 888mhz, while the 2.4C will have a fsb of 1333mhz (which is probably unstable as ****)!!

Edit: Also there's an old 2.4A that had fsb: 400mhz (100x4), cache: 512kb (thanks for correction, wowza), Core: Northwood (I think)

Uh, no, dude, I had a 2.4AE @ 4GHz, and I was getting creamed by other 800FSB processors.. Trust me, clock speed is way overrated when you have no bus speed. I would take a 300+ FSB 2.4C over a 230FSB 2.4AE anyday at 4GHz

Yea your right but if you looking to achieve a higher overclock (to show-off obviously ), not performance, then I'm pretty sure the 2.4AE is better because of its high multi and low fsb. Imagine a 2.4C with 1333mhz fsb, that's pretty crazy.

Correct, there was a 2.4 with 400FSB, but it had 512k of L2 cache... and they made 10 different versions I believe.

HS is arriving any day! I'd like to hear any comments about this CPU, and i hope I can at least push 3GHZ.
I guess I had good luck with Rev. C Stepping 7. Mind you the attached was not a functional overclock but I could get to windows and run superpi and such. I could run at about 3.2GHz 24/7, and it was stable to 3.4GHz but temps became an issue. Mine was a 400MHz FSB compared to your 533MHz, but that really should not make a difference. Good luck.

In actuality, if one had a side by side comparison of:

P4 2.4A Prescott with Level 2 cache 1MB and P4 2.4C Northwood with Level 2 cache 512k

With both producing 4.0GHz one would be left with:

P4 2.4A (Prescott) @ 533MHz fsb = 18 multiplier
P4 2.4C (Northwood) @ 800MHz fsb = 12 multiplier

Thus if one takes both processors to 4.0GHz one is left with

P4 2.4A (Prescott) @ 533MHz fsb = 18 multiplier --> 4.0GHz = 222fsb
P4 2.4C (Northwood) @ 800MHz fsb = 12 multiplier --> 4.0GHz = 333fsb

So the Pentium 4 2.4C will of course take out the 2.4A with both being at 4.0GHz due to the much higher fsb of the Northwood. However, the work completed by the Prescott @ 4.0GHz will be higher per processor tick than the Northwood @ 4.0GHz per processor tick. It's just that there will be more data streamed by Northwood than Prescott. The Prescott would make up for some of the fsb debt via the extra 512K cache. This would be seen at an even greater advantage with small data streams such as video encoding or database retrieval.
