You know I was going to get a 2.4Ae because of all the 4.0ghz post's, but figured I would go with the 2.4c because of the hyper threading(my first P4 HT) Im glad I got the C, all though the 1024k L2 would be nice I like the 1000+ bus speed with this CPU.

We have the same CPU?

Yours = 24× multiple
Mine = 18× multiple

Thats going to cause a huge change.

Woh, wooohh. I never said that we have the same processor. I just stating that I had the same revision and stepping as you and I had great results with it. Remember, you were question your revision and stepping?? Thus I put the quote from when you were questioning your revision and stepping.

The overclockability of your processor should be good. You may not hit 3.68GHz, but you will definitely reach your goal of 3.0GHz.

You draw to conclusions like my wife. By the way, that is not a good thing.

Good luck with your processor.

You calling me a woman? ? lol...

I guess I was too vague, I was asking if we have the same CPU, because everything is Identical except the multi, and I've been trying to change my multi forever! 3.0 is what I was looking for....I'll be sure to post back with my results within the week.

Your "C" will also be ~10C cooler all around.

Ok, so CPU-z is saying I have a 2.4B0, right? What would you all think is the overall possibilities of this CPU? I have been under the belief that it is my RAM (stock <cough>Dell<cough>) that has been the limit to my current OC. What do you think?

Yeah the temps are alot lower then my Celey D 335 clocked to 3.5ghz. As of now the 2.4c has a stock heatsink(which is mush smaller then the 1 for my Celey D. But as soon as I get my water cooling kit put together Ill probably run it on both rigs as they are on the same desk, just wont run them both at the same time. Then I should be able to push this CPU a little further. I think Im gonna do a V-droop mod on the deluxe board, because in bios my voltage was set at 1.65 but it was reading between 1.7-1.75 just at idle then it would drop down to 1.6-1.65 during a stress test. Although the temps havent hit 50c yet I dont want to chance bumping the v-core anymore and pop my good overclocking cpu.

It is the 2.4 northy with 533 so its not the a or c. I think 3.0 is easily achievable and maybe more. What vcore and ram settings are you running?

Vcore is at 1.65V with temps running 42-44C. Memory is 4:5 @ 2.5,3,3,7.

Well you could bump the vcore up to a max of 1.7 to see if that helps at all. Also how does your ram run at 197 when its stock 166? Have you ran memtest for stability at 197?
