If you think they will hold you over for some time then it's definitely a good and cheap upgrade. Yeah. I currently have to run right through a 37inch TV at 1280 x 760. I am not really getting the max resolution. I worry that if I put $500 into a 480 I am just spending more than I need. If I went SLI 9800gtx+ for 80 bucks I am at least getting an upgrade. I do play FSX and it is pretty intense on graphics.
The weird thing is the GTX 295's haven't really come down much form their inception.
My current rig is a FX55 from 5 years ago.
