I plan on upgrading the fan in the V8 to the silverstone 110CFM fan. Cant wait to see if it proves a difference. Also the M4A78-E has a weird voltage bump at 1.5375v. In the bios it reads at 1.585v. Not sure if it's a design flaw or if I need to upgrade the bios. all other voltages read as set. After 1.5375v it goes up another 0.05v. Any thoughts on this issue?

Does that board have the cpu over volt jumper next to the 12v rail connector? If not Im not sure but yes it could be down to a dodgy bios, always best to upgrade since it takes about 30 seconds.

I have that same setup. Bunch of bogus temps. I believe the 3 core temps are fine, and the ASUS_CPU_Temp as it were should be correct.

So I added a extra fan to the V8 and its keeping the temperatures under 40c at 1.59v! Crazyness.

Can not seem to get stable overclock @ 3552MHz (14.5 x 245) with these settings.

CPU Voltage - 1.50
HT Link - 1960 MHz
N/Bridge - 2205 MHz
DRAM Frequency - 408 MHz
Memory timings - 6-5-5-15-20-1T
FSBRAM - 3:5

Any suggestions as to what I can try next?

Did you figure out what's holding you back? How are your temps? I can't get it past 3.4 either and I'm positive it's just the cpu.

No, I haven't been able to get any higher than 3480 MHz. Under full load using OCCT the temps are only 39.5 C, even raising the voltage up to 1.50 from 1.475 didn't help. The only thing I haven't tried is adjusting the memory timings as I am unsure how to proceed, I have the bios set to auto in regard to the memory.

I am wondering if my psu is affecting my overclocking attempts.
