Offical AMD Athlon II X3 Owners Club - Page 23

3.2, good deal ,glad to hear your getting somewhere. Is it stable then? How much voltage did you have give it? Think I needed 1.392 to unlock and for 3.2 to be stable, but took me up to 3.5 stable and needs 1.45 for 3.6 to be stable.

Glad your looking at your psu too. Is it good and stable ? I believe 3% fluctuation is ok. The little guide over at Tom's recommends 30 to 33A for a system running a 9800gt. If you have anymore trouble I would run it by the gang over in the psu section!

I was wondering if you had tried igp and minimal system attachments. Did you clear cmos between changes ??

I wouldn't give up on the unlock yet til your stable and have plenty of juice. Have you played with thee acc settings at all ? I seen a couple of times where it's said to try
HT @ 1.6
ACC @ all cores
Value @ -2% (all cores)
If your stable,I would keep trying. (but i'm not stable either soo...)

I love this thing!! It unlocks and purrs at 3.5ghz with 1.5v. 13k in vantage!! and my max oc was a little over 3.8 but far from stable
post #223 of 583
The overclock wasn't stable in the least. It blue screened while I was surfing the net. Tried every possible config for unlock, including the stuff you mentioned. I had to take the voltage to 1.5 or so just for that. I blame the PSU. Its only JUST makes the grade for running my system at stock. 29w across 2 12v rails ain't enough.

It was OK for my old Intel system and I'll keep it as a backup. I'm planning on getting a Corsair TX750W at the end of the month, more than enough for my system AND any thing I might add. Will try unlocking then. Thanks for the help.

Follow this guide here. It's pretty fool proof. Update you system specs in User CP so we know what system you running.

Reporting in,

Having trouble with validation so here's a pic:

This, imo, is AMD's best bang for buck cause you can unlock that 4th core and if you're unsuccessful you still have a shot at unlocking the L3 cache like I did.

If you get a better cooler, you should be able to easily get to 3.6ghz with that voltage. Just keep an eye on you RAM speed.
I have to throw 1.55 at it to be stable at 3.6
what kind of voltage are you running to be stable at 3.7??

I get my 4th core unlocked and L3 cache, waiting on PSU to run it properly and burn in, will let you all know in the weeks to come.
