Shoot, my 435 had unstable L3 cache. Anyone know how to keep L3 off but keep the core?

Ok. So yesterday I got my new PSU. Got it all installed and I think, ok NOW I'll be able to overclock. I got plenty of power, great cooling, motherboards pretty decent. And guess what. STILL NOTHING. As soon as I go over about 3.1Ghz I get BSOD's and sometimes can't even get into windows. Uping the voltage helps... Sometimes. I seriously don't know what it could be. RAM? Bad chip? bad mobo? The AMD chipset not liking my nVidia card? I dunno.

I had tha same problem, at 2.9 then at 3.1. At 2.9 it was my mobo. After changing that, I only got 3.1. It took me a while to figure out that I need to crank my ram multi down. It was at 1600, I turned them down to 1200, and I then could oc my CPU to much much higher.

Hope this helps!

Well I'm using DDR2 800 RAM and the 1st thing I do when overclocking is set it to 400 and loosen the timings. It still blue screens. My motherboard has these "Rapid Debug" LED things and when I enable ACC my PC freezes, its on but no BIOS or anything. When this happens only one LED is lit. According to the manual this indicated a VGA error. Today I looked at the motherboard itself, and the order of the LED's is switched in the manual meaning that its actually a memory error. I've run MEMtest before and its been clear. Going to try a more full test later. Which would be better, the MEMtest built into the mobo, running one off a flashdisk or running the Windows 7 startup one?

When I have OCD this CPU, I didn't turn acc on at all. Try leaving it off and see what happens.

ACC doesn't work for me. When I turn it on I can't even get into the BIOS.

I know you've been working hard on this braindrain, trying everything possible, so you have probably already been to rebels haven http://www.rebelshavenforum.com/sis-...;start_point=0. Maybe you can find something relevant to your setup. Sounds like no post w/acc is a bad core from what they say over there. Looks like a good board, should be able to get some clocks out of it..

No luck trying different timings ?

Been trying to overclock most of the day with no luck. Tried every possible memory timings with no luck. I can get to 3.2Ghz but its not stable and the voltage is, imo, too high for such a low overclock. Starting to think its my CPU thats bad.

Stock HT is 2000Mhz. I keep it below that when overclocking although I've tried with it at about 2300Mhz and it hasn't helped.
