@Adlain: dude, u even got the L3 unlocked!

as for the temps, you'll have to sorta re-calibrate by going back to stock and check how far off the CPU temp sensor is off from the CORE temps (both during idle and load). u can use the discrepancy to estimate the CPU Core temps when everything's unlocked.

As you can see im idling at 50*C and maxing out at 64*C, i know my GPU doesnt help matters (a GeForce GTS250) but would like to know if this is OK to run at untill later in the year when i can afford to get a non-stock Heatsink??
Yes that seems hot. What are your ambient temps in general ? Speed fan says you have HHD's at 38c, 41c,AUX. at 29c and fan1 running at 12rpm ? Ambient temp around 30c ? What were your temps as an x3 ? Download HWMonitor and see what readings it gives you. Core temps will be 0c because of acc being enabled, but TMPIN0 or TMPIN1 should be your cpu temp depending on your MB.

Max. temp according to AMD is 73c: http://products.amd.com/en-us/Deskto...f10=&f11=&f12=

With that fan reading of 12 rpm make sure all fans are working and air flow in your case is good. (any change in temp if you remove the side panel ?)

If I remember correctly, unlocking only adds a couple of degrees on my chip..

And yes, congrates on scoring the Deneb core.

I have always wondered if it was safe to do that?? I remember long ago when I first started using a pc that they used to warn people not to run with the side panel off as it can create hotspots on the mothboard or such like. But that was very old advice.

Well only to make sure you have good air flow in your case. If the air isn't flowing through your case properly your going to have hot spots as well. You would want to closed it up and use filters if your in a dusty environment.

Have you tried HWMonitor for a comparison in temps and fan operation ?

Fanwise I have yet to check but I am running the numbers on my CPU under stock conditions ATM. Looks like the cores are approx 4*c cooler than the base CPU temp sofar and idle at 41*c. I'll post full results when done and try the fan/ side panel off when able.

Thanks for your help sofar.

Just noticed ur system's name, and it seems very apt. Ur whole system's running too hot. w/ all 4 cores running @ stock speed (15X200), I'm idling @ around 35C. I've installed a CM Hyper TX3 for cpu cooling but I don't think it accounts for the >20C diff between our systems.

But on the whole, everything seems a bit too hot which, as ku4jb suggested, might be due the case airflow probs. Maybe a bit more fans pointing in the proper direction could help. Once the system temp's been sorted, only then would I look @ aftermarket cpu coolers.

btw, will a discrete GPU make much difference to the temps? I suppose if the airflow isn't good to begin w/, the extra heat will just stay trapped and raise the temps?

Is your bios up to date ? And your HSF is good and tight ?

An idle of 50c itself sounds high, but then the increase of only 11.5 on IBT sounds off.

the heatsink in on fine as far as i can tell - i have no more thermal paste so i dont really want to take it off and re-seat it if posable, but it felt right when i got it on and looks ok.

i dont know what Fan is running at 12RPM - i have my fan at the front and one on the top its my old case from getting a Advent T9405, which is what i have upgraded or more to the point gutted out. i know PC World get a hammering but that system did last a good while.
