hey guys,
im new to this
got an Athlon X3 445, stepping C3 NADHC AD
managed to unlock the 4th core successfully, it is completely stable at full load.
overclocked it to 3.6 but voltages raised too high - thats a different thread anyhow...
my question: CPU-Z tells me it is an Deneb-die Phenom II X4 B45 but there is no L3 Cache activated...
is there a way to activate that? or is it in the bitter end a propus die with simply phisically no L3 Cache available??
whats the most OC i can aim at with 4 cores and aircooling? (EKL Alpenföhn Brocken)

greetz

I'm used to thuban, oh the board I got is an asus M4A88T-M

Hey, peeps. It's been a while. Have a new mb now. 880GA-UD3H.. Sometimes I get the jolly BSOD when the 4th core is unlocked. Trying to figure out what makes it bluescreen. On the GA-770TA it wouldn't do that..
Still haven't touched the voltages. Running 3.7GHz atm. And the temps are still low even under heavy load. Did I do a good thermal paste job? Was thinking about getting liquid cooling, but I don't see the point right now. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1482113

I'm having a lot of trouble overclocking my X3 425. I was able to get it to 3307MHz in Windows XP stable (prime95@6h+), but I can't push it past 3.1GHz in Windows 7 64bit without a horde of BSODs. I've played with the voltages (increasing voltages actually causes the CPU to be more unstable some of the time), I've lowered the NB/HT speed, RAM multiplier, etc. This has completely stumped me, especially since I have almost the PC as the OP. I've also flashed my BIOS to the latest version (F3), but still no luck.

Specs:

Athlon II X3 425@3.1GHz
DDR3 1333@1240 Geil 4GB CL9
Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4
OCZ StealthXstream 700W w/4*12V+@18A
EVGA Geforce GTX 460 SE@850/1700/4000
Corsair H50 Liquid cooling

EDIT: Disregard that, 3.1 is not stable. Trying 3.0....

This seems like such a weak overclock considering my hardware. Anyone have an insights?

Just bought a D14 to replace my 212+ and I really want to crank up my OC. Currently I'm at 3.5 unlocked w/ 1.525v so I have a high leakage chip, I'm guessing my temps will be decent even at 1.6v but I'm just slightly worried about the lasting effect of running a high vcore. Has anyone here been running 1.6+ 24/7?

Give it 1.5v see if that helps, I really can't see a lot more voltage making things unstable unless your chip is fk'd.
Slowly raise the FSB.. keep the HT closest to 2Ghz as you can, keep an eye on your memory and try to keep it around 1333. The other thing is your NB, maybe give it some more voltage too.. 1.3v -1.35v should do.

Question, whats everybody's Vcore volt for your Athlon X3 440? Mine's at 1.390V with Idle temps of 50c and Load temps nearing 65c. =/
