any upgrade

Thread Starter
hi, guys, first of all i'm switching into amd. the new parts will arrive in a few days. 965 + 790fxta-ud5, and the rest as seen in my sig.

now i wonder, is there anything i can upgrade in the new system. i know i don't really need it. but i just have to put in or replace some part every a few months.

don't really have a budget, but don't want to sell a kidney or lose some limbs either.

any advices?

No way. That system is awesome.

If you really want though, you could put in a 60GB SSD as a boot drive.

never liked intel but back 2 years ago i didn't have a choice since amd sucked really hard at that time.

and i got the mobo already, the cpu on its way too. not a big fan of asus either (yes, i'm using an asus mobo too, but it was x58-ud5 failed me first), so i ordered a giga board.

so i will stick to the cpu, mobo and the rams a little bit longer this time, wishfully. any possible advice on the other parts?

oh, a 128 crucial ssd is coming too.

oh yea SSD. very good idea.
the ram you probably need Dual Channel. not triple.

The only thing I can think of it another monitor, depending on what you'll be doing, and another GPU. Maybe a minifridge for those late-night gamings? :-p

you have sweet sig rig ...IF you really need to change anything for upgrade.
how about a top of the line board and ram? PS i am not a intel person so your intel brothers can help you spend your money on a all out motherboard and ram and SSD
