And let it begin............

If you want my opinion, i think the x6 series will be good, and if you have the money feel free to get it. However, after seeing how little gaming performance increased after the move from duals to quads, i dont expect to see any real performance gain in anything but benchmarks for a few years.

6 cores is not needed NOW, but in a few years, it might be. Same goes with USB3/SATA 6gbs.

The OP holding onto his Sempron for so long means 1) He never had money to upgrade or 2) He can hold onto things and not have upgrade fever like 75% of the people here on OCN.

Since he's finally upgrading after so many years, might as well splurge and get the 6 cores now and have it last him another 6 years, along with USB3/SATA 6gbs.

Why pass up the opportunity to get a 6 core processor now? He could spend $160 now, then wait for prices to drop then spend another $150-$200, or he can spend $200-$300 and be set for years to come.

I had chose the Antec 900 for two reason:

1- Fabrication quality
2- Great air flow

I had ear about CoolerMaster and their cheap plastic in their case who vibrate with the fan... it maybe not true ^^.

IDK anything about the NZXT brand. I have see sme of their product but did do any research on it. If you have reviews about it

And i don't think i will use enough my CPU to need a x6 core and i'm thing in my budjet. It's why i'm not sure for the Noctua D14

Agree. Its really up to him and how often he plans to upgrade. If he's one of those people who has to have the newest technology all the time(which it doesnt appear so) i would say get the 955 and pass up the x6 and go bulldozer, but if you want to build it and forget about it until its out of date, get the x6

AS others have said, you should reconsider the case. The Antec 900 lacks many of the features that are standard in most cases that cost less.
Cases to consider would be the Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced, CM HAF922, or the Lian Li Lancool PC-K62.

Everything else is spot on. If you can afford it, I am sure the upgrade to the X6 and 890FX would be great, but you would probably be just as happy with the X4 and the mobo you listed.

*EDIT* Sorry about the US links. Just noticed you are in Canada.

If i get the x6 with the new 890FX (i think i the name ^^) mobo, it will cost me around 100$ more, so I will can buy the CPU HS.

I did project to upgrade it (just look at what i have XD) but i make around 3 years i want to change my PC but i always can't (lake of money/time/knowledge...)

But now i'm ready (i think)

Maybe the x6 will be beter but i will wait to see the price

if u plan to wait 3 years to upgrade, save the money and get the 955, then in 3 years get the bulldozer, or whatever else you choose at that time

Ok, for the case i have thought to take the Lian Li Lancool PC-K62 if the Noctua D14 fit in. It look great, idk if the air flow is good (only 1 intake :S) but it maybe fine.

Other things?

AZZA Solano 1000 is also really good. It has the same stuff as the antec 900 only with bigger fans and better cable management. Although the side fan will probably block your cpu cooler but you can always take it off.
