If the PSU took a hit I don't believe you would be seeing a threshhold like that, it simply would not work (but I could be wrong...see, I was wrong...thanks Duke...I guess you could lose on component w/i the PSU that would cause V or A to drop yet still provide power). Your original post states:

I am being nitpicky here but that makes it sound like you may not recall having gotten that speed, that you are only reading it like a fact. I am guessing that the journal shows that you had speeds below that, yes? Only reason I ask is because 260 = 206 + typo. Otherwise, I would suggest resetting all of your power connections, even if you didn't remove any before. Going in and doing anything physical can cause a bump here or there. If a pin isn't making good contact somewhere you might not be getting all the juice you can. You probably know this already, but the PSU would be the next upgrade on my list. I will say this, I had a Raidmax 400W PSU with 13A on the 12V and surprisingly enough it ran this system fine, 24/7 for about 2 months at 2.8 (temps were the limit).
