@lmnop, those are all pretty lame(and expensive). I'll try to build one my self later on. The Mouse Bungee looks cool, but for $30 not worth it to try.

Also - Hows that Xai working out? I'm tied between getting it and a g500 (Using a g5 now but the scroll wheel / side buttons are worn)
The G500 uses tact switches for the side buttons, like the new G5 afaik. The old G5 with one side button used a micro switch which feels much better. The mouse wheel is really nice though on the G500. I'd go with the G500 if you like to have lots of buttons, and the Xai if you want something that's more bare but very nice at it. I like the Xai more because it uses micro switches for all the buttons.

I don't have a lighter or matches gonna go pick one up in a few. I'm hopping it wont make it stiffer than it is.

The mechanical keyboard user in me says "oh! microswitches!" but the buyer in me says $90 is too much for a very basic looking mouse (As much as I DO love steelseries)

Going to head down to BestBuy (Yeah, but its cheaper than newegg) in a few hours and pick up a g500.

You better put your flame suit on.

Anyways, I have never had a problem with normal mouse cabling, my OCZ Equalizer is almost a year old and the cable is fine.

On the other hand, the rubberized finish on the mouse is wearing off, and it looks ugly. I am probably going to paint green and orange.

Yeah it is quite expensive. Most I've payed for a mouse, and though it has flaws, it's the best mouse I've ever used.

I hate them. What is the point of braiding the mouse cable?
It always just rubs against the edge of my mousepad, creating friction and fraying it. Whats wrong with the "normal" mouse cord?

I've had my G5 for 3 years now and my braided cable isn't frayed at all.

I game on it everyday.

BOth of my g5s are fraying, and the cords are starting to annoy me. The cables seem to be getting less flexible...

I don't like them either. They are too heavy and too stiff and tend to be much harder to get into that mousing "sweet spot" where you don't notice the cord pushing on the mouse ever. Unfortunately, every good mouse nowadays has one. The only functional mouse I have without one anymore is the Deathadder.
