well you can just not change the voltage and do 4.0ghz or change the voltage to 1.525 and get 4.4ghz but the best overclock is the most stable and login to the windows without a cpu voltage change is awasome 4.0 is prob the way to go for everyday use no hassle :

4ghz with tht voltage gives me lock ups same with 3.9. though i can bench in 3dmark with it.

cooling is an issue as the case i am using is small. its the aerocool qx-2000. i can;t find a way to fit my h50 in their. i just tore it apart to try and re route the cables. and im swapping my 2 5870 soc's into it as well. ive gotten 22654 in 06 with one 5870 and 22 ish in vantage with the single 5870 as well.

what does the vdd vs the v change on in the bios? eg (cpuvdd, cpuv, cpu NB V,cpu NB vdd?) what do i use to change the volts?

also wht does nb speeds effect as far as stock vs o/c is their a performance improvement.

Actually, 62 is the absolute recommended max for this chip
Trying to stay below 55 degrees is the best idea for these chips. A good cooler like the Dark Knight will significantly drop temps. I max at 55 at 4ghz 1.488v on the Dark Knight.
so these 62°C are the max on the cores? i usually stayed below 55°C on the CPU temp which is about 10°C higher ost of the time...

I hit a wall @ 4.090Ghz. Think the problem is my board only goes to 1.496V max. Hope its just the Beta bios.

This shouldn't be a huge problem while gaming but it could take play in other things you do. Are you on the latest BIOS? Or are you just disabling those two cores on purpose for kicks

@Cryraxz: The voltage seems a bit low... did you stress test? Also you should do ALL of your OC'ing from the BIOS, never trust OC'ing software.
I know it's the bios I got from asus. It's a crosshair II thing, we are all waiting for a new bios. Can't overclock in the bios couse the multi won't go up and cool and quiet can't be disabled and who knows what else......But the voltage is right on.
