Ughhhmm. Ah, Duke has a Opteron 144 that has the x9 Multi. I think he probably can speak better on the subject. Those are some bold statements you are throwing down in this thread.
I know you want to achieve some goal as far as breaking records, but what you really need to ask yourself is, "What type of applications do I want to use this computer for?" If you want to strictly want to overclock then maybe look at the Opteron single core line, like the 144/146/148. People have been getting great overclocks and wicked results. 3700+ have been doing good to as far as overclocking.
Hey, but who begrudge you for picking up a FX-60 if you can afford to throw the money down. As far as the graphics go its the whole Po-ta-to Po-tah-to theory. I like Nvidia others like ATI. Both of their top end cards are awesome, so just pick the one you prefer.
