NZXT Lexa S + Pics and skimpy review

EDIT:

Finally bought this casing from another dude off another forums for $70. He threw in 3 free CM R4 Blue LED case fans for free too --- one being a 140mm, two others being 120mm.

I changed the top NZXT 140mm fan to a CM R4, added another CM R4 to the top, and changed the rear NZXT 120mm fan to a CM R4.

My fan set up is going something like this:

Front --- intake
Top --- intake
Side --- exhaust
Rear --- exhaust

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple of pics:

(Sexy box is sexy)

(Bad quality pic is bad)

Using a phone camera, sorry for the low quality pictures.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ran P95 for 4 hours to compare the temps of my CPU with this casing as compared to my previous CM Elite 310. It was a Phenom II X3 720 @ 3.434GHz on 1.425vcore.

CM Elite 310:
Idle: 31C
Load: 46C

NZXT Lexa S:
Idle: 30C
Load: 37C

Idle temps didn't really change much, but the difference in load temps astounded me. Guess having 5 fans does make a difference.

Overall, I'm really liking this case. The black interior is absolutely win. Cable management was rather irritating though, as the punch in holes really didn't come to much use due to being too small and narrow. If I tried to hide the wires behind the side panel, it would be way too hard to close for some strange reason. :/

It's a good case, I must say, a worthy upgrade from my previous CM Elite 310. Considering how I paid only $70 for the case and 3 free fans, I think I got a pretty good deal.

Thanks for the reply bro.

So, how's the airflow going inside the case? Also, what clearance does he have for his GPU and CPU cooler (if any)?

Another thing, is the cable management in this case as mediocre as what reviews have stated?

Sorry for asking so many questions, just want to make sure of all details before I pull the trigger.

Sorry, forgot to tell you the airflow (just woke up)

The airflow is very good in front fan in the upper of the case you can place 2 x 120
and ofcourse in the back 1 x 120 if im not mistaken,

on his CPU a CoolerMaster V8 cooler kinda large thing and he has a 4870 card in it and
plenty of room left .

in my opinion (and my little bro's) its a very good case!

For your comparison my cm690 next to his Lexa S

The V8 is a pretty huge cooler, I have to admit. So I'm guessing my Hyper 212+ should fit in their rather snuggly, right?

Thanks for the input man, now I'm REALLY considering getting this case. >.>

I had a 212 in mine before I went into water, and it fit nicely. Overall airflow is also pretty good.

My main gripe with it would be the clearance behind the mobo and the side panel - my PSU cabled were pretty thick, and it made sliding the side panel into place very very difficult.

So cable management really might be a nuisance for this case. I myself am using a semi-modular PSU, so not sure how cable management might turn out in this case.

For the case, all the original fans, as well as 3 CM R4 Blue LED fans, is $72 a good price?

Also, how would this case compare to the Antec 900?

I have the Lexa S...cable management is pretty good, but as said the space behind the mobo is a tight fit. I actually have to hug the case and press all 4 corners down to make it slide into place right when putting the mobo-side panel on.

I also have an OCZ600W modular in it. Just look at the sig rig.

Personally, as much as the airflow is good, the NZXT Hades has MUCH better airflow, and room for 12" gpus. ATX and Micro ATX support, 200mm front intake, 200mm side intake, 2x 140mm exhaust up top and one 120mm exhaust on the back. For your needs, the hades would be much better.
