Panzer Box fully Water Cooled

So it's been a while since I have posted anything on here, and recently I started working on some projects that I've put back on the back burner for a while now because of games and life etc....so here is my first project that I've started on and now I've learned that isn't going to work for this build. I know this post is kinda backwards, this comes after the build was almost done and tho I did keep a photo log of things, I did not keep a build log going during this. So I will improvise this build as far as the info during each steps...

I know I started a build on here called the "CUB3" and as of right now I don't see it coming to reality, it is still something I would like to build, but as of right now, all the components and stuff for that build will be dumped into this build. Maybe the "CUB3" will be something I pick back up in a year or so, or maybe never at all....

This build was to include two water cooled loops, one for the cpu, nb, and sb. Then the other loop was for just the gpu's.

So the specs for this build are kinda close to the specs for CUB3, so anyway here they go...

-Watercooling Parts

CPU Block : Koolance CPU-340
Pump : Swiftech MCP655
Radiator : Swiftech MCR220-QP Radiator
NB Block: Koolance CHC - 122 NB Waterblock
SB Block: Koolance CHC - 125 SB Waterblock
Reservoir: Koolance TNK - 80 Reservoir, Inline 80mm
Koolance Reservoir and Pump, RP-980BK for GPU's
Koolance CTR-CD10BK Pump & Fan Speed Controller for MB Blocks
Koolance HX-CU420V Radiator for GPU Loop
Koolance 2x VID-487 Waterblocks

-System Components

MB : DFI LanParty Dark edition 790FXB
CPU : AMD Phenom II x4 940
RAM : Mushkin 4GB (2x2GB) x2
HDD : WD Velociraptor 320gb
PSU : Corsair TX 850W
GPU : 2x 4890's

And all of this to fit INSIDE the NZXT Panzer Box, to still be completely portable to LAN Parties etc. So for now I'll start posting my pics, and let you see what happens in the end....and let you see what project this project's failure has inspired me to do....

So here's the motherboard and CPU, both have which been sitting on top of a bookshelf for almost a year out in the open, and also fell off that bookshelf, hit my girlfriend in the head on its way down to the floor (long story)....I'm not sure if it even works anymore but anywho...time to clean it up!

Closer view

The dust in my house is CRAZY

It's starting to clean up a lil bit..lol

Now time to start putting on the waterblocks...

Mounted on the MB tray

Time to take the top fan out for the radiator

As I was tightening down the screws that secure the radiator to the top of the case tragedy happened.......

This I have to say is one of the weak points to this case, these little securing mounts are flanged at the top and are not the greatest for this type of application.....

So now forced to deal with one of the mounting points broken on the top for my radiator, I decided to deal with it and just move on....

Mounted my radiator for the GPU's on the back

Test fitting everything right now, and I just noticed I can't put the combo pump/res on the top rack because it blocks the securing tab for the ram.

So I moved it down next to the optical drive, and now I have VERY little room between the combo pump/res case and the ram, they are actually touching.....

And to keep them it from putting any pressure on the stick of ram I have to keep the bay devices a little out on the case which to me doesn't look to bad I can live with it....

So I've taken the radiator from the top back out and decided to put some rubber between the fans and the rad just to eliminate any vibrations or noise..

Holy crap, is that a warehouse or something?

Might I suggest getting a bottle of Compressed air...or 5.

Other than that, it's looking good so far. Always love WC build logs.

With the radiator out, I keep on thinking how I can fix this broken mount.....other than replacing all the mounts with something else, I don't have much choice....So I take apart the case, and take out the old mounts...

Being that the frame is made of aluminum I can't weld to it because I don't own a TIG welder, so next best thing.....JB WELD!!! LOL
So I grind off some of the paint around the holes....

And now I put in my new bolts and JB weld them in.....

Now to let them set and dry.....24+ hours....

So now with the bolts dry, I start the tedious tubing.....

Now I get everything tubed together, and it's time for the test run....filled with just distilled water, I plug in a lil 300w power supply to run the fans pumps etc....

Pic taken with my Iphone

So now I was breathing easy knowing that my first loop was in good shape, no leaks etc.....now to start on my second loop.....

So I take apart the first loop so I could put in the graphics cards, because the tubes are hard to deal with trying to get these big long cards in, also later I'm going to be using some actual coolant instead of the distilled water....

So I take apart the cards....

And I mount the very pretty waterblocks....

And now this is the audience participation part.......

What happens next? What problem do I run into after mounting these cards in that makes me ditch using the Panzer Box for this rig??? You have pictures and now that I've ran into the problem I should have seen this problem even BEFORE I started this project.......All these pictures should be more than enough evidence as to the problems that are going to stop this build.....

LOL na it's my bedroom, built the desk in there so I would have enough room for stuff like this.....but yet I still feel cramped.....
