well im bored so i want to get some opinions from you guys...

Well last month i decided one day when i got pissed off b/c my mom wanted to use our family computer( its a decent machine... P4 540 @3.4ghz 1gig ddr400 w/ a x700 pro... It was a gateway though ) i liked it but i didnt like sharing.
So i decided to build a comp. Then a week later i pick up this comp im using right now for only 40$ to hold me over. But anyways at first i just wanted a Amd setup now i dont konw for sure... B/c i recently bought a Pentium D 820 for 146$ on ebay( it was a steal).I wanted to get a Nvidia card but ive never had one b4... do now i think im going to get a Crossfire readyboard and upgrade later...

Well here is my build ....

Start out with the CPU: Pentium D 820 160$ with shipping

Motherboard (looks good for the price... if i want to later on i can crossfire):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813135218

Video card Ati X850 xt:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102483

Ram going with
DDR2:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231017

CPU FAN havent decided yet thinking of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835106061

Hard drive 160gig maxtor:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144182

2 cases in mind... First is this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156177
second
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156181

only problem is i dont think the powersupplies that come with these cases can handle Cross fire or SLI from my understanding(if otherwise please tell me)
Any suggestings on a Good But cheap Powersupplie that can handle CrossFIre or SLI

561.75 is my cart at newegg +160 i paid for my CPU already

i still dont know if i should get the intel setup...No games need the Dual cores or the DDR2 memory yet anyways. but i think i if build this computer it will be able to play the games of tom.

Sure you don't want to go AMD cause Dual Core wise AMD dual core are better at almost everthing

Also what about the 7800gt? $289 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814122228

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156177 Yer that was looks awesome

for powersupply, I am not shure about your buget on that, but a decent one is the Sunbeam NUUO 550w SLi Certified. It is a very good PSU for a very good price.. being 80 bux. Don't use the ones that come in the case, they are generally (99% of the time) crappy, and can't handle SLi setup / Overclocking... Don't cut corners on your PSU, you don't want to be giving bad volts to your rig.

FYI guys, he allready bought a processor...

here is the link to the PSU.. Btw, the reviews are way off on newegg. This is a really good PSU, I have one in my second rig and I couldn't be happier

For the memory, Stay away from that G.Skill, the timings are subpar, and don't overclock well (my friend had a pair and hated them)... I like G.Skill, but not for DDR2. Instead, get this Corsair C4, much better timings for PC-5400 memory, at a really good price.

Wow, never new EVGA made mobos...lol personally i'd go DFI, but if you arnt going to overclock maybe an ASUS? a8n32-sli (uses nvidia's new chipset so it performs pretty well

um 300064 do u mean the AMD64 3000+ cause thats pretty old and would bottleneck that GFX , if you still want dual core go with the amd64 X2 3800+ or if you want to stay cheap and single core mayby an AMD64 3500+ venice. Personally i think that for future proofing perposes I'd go with the x2 3800+

Hope I've helped.

Yea, eVGA made 1 board to bundle with their graphics cards, If I remember correctly, you buy 2 eVGA 7800GT's and the board is free, or the 512GTX and the board is free.. something like that. Basically it's a POS motherboard that just kinda works...

If your going with AMD, get the Sandy 3700+ (decent chance for 3GHz) or the 3200+ venice, either of those will OC better than the 3500+ venice. But yea, frags is correct, if you want a dual core get the 3800+
