I registered at this site just to say thanks to the author of this fix. MS should be ashamed of such a shoddy update. I had 3 win 7 64bit boxes and all had this bug and were all fixed with this reg file. If I had not stumbles on to this thread I would be screwed. Thanks!!!

Unfortunately this fix caused another problem for me, my libraries have disappeared from the RHS of the start menu. They're still turned on as "Display as link" under the customize start menu, menu.

Can anyone help fix this?

Typical ms. Probably waiting for some bloke to create a fix from his blog. They don't fix problems just creates them and move on. Install one update then you have install another twenty just to fix the previous update

Ok folks I need some super tech experience to help me on this. I've been around the net for many many weeks trying to resolve this issue. I have two (now THREE) folders I cannot delete from my desktop. I've tried deleting registry entries, Uninstalling KB980408 from My Microsoft Updates (I didn't actually have that update listed). I've tried deleting the corrupted files via cmd prompt. I've tried "unlocker" several times. Nothing will kill these cockroach "empty and unnameable" folders from my desktop. The fact that somehow I've acquired a THIRD one indicates I've got a pattern of this happening that I don't at least know how to clean off. the offending files appear as follows when I pull them up under the cmd prompt :
FOREXX~1
POSITI~1
STOCK~1
These were all folders created while using Camtasia in a video screen capture production process. I can't remove these dead folders from my desktop and it is driving me absolutely CRAZY!!!

Pleeeeeeseee Help!!
