max frames to render ahead?

what is this,and what can it do for my fps. right it is set at 3 frames. it under addiional 3d settings using coobits????

I have wondered this too, but if you would try and set it to like 100 for me and see how that affects your FPS in a game. Then I will know too Basically I think it means how many frames can your GPU draw ahead of the one being displayed, for instance if we number the frames and #4876 is being drawn, setting it at 3 would only allow your GPU to draw up to #4880 until #4877 is displayed, then it can move on to #4881, understand?
