Just got new mobo, prob

Ok I just got this new ASRock motherboard p4vm800 and you think no prob right well as soon as I install this board and run it I sit in the bios and watch the temperature right ... and it dosnt stop going up when it passes the 50C mark I get worried and i stick my hand on the cooling fins of cpu and its hotter than it has ever been even while folding with my stock intel mobo what do i do is this board i have preset to overclock my cpu upon install? Then I try to boot up and i have read on the booklet that came with the mobo that it automatically shuts the computer down upon overheating, ya so I boot my computer all the way up and it just barley gets past the post and then shuts down!!

HSF stands for HeatSink Fan......

Also, you don't want a lot of thermal conductor material. you should just have a thin layer.......are you using Arctic Silver for the thermal paste?

I don't know how a mobo would cause a tempeture spike, the only thing I could guess is that the stock HSF isn't seating well with that board. I guess it could be under spinning the fan but other than that......

There's a lot of good cooling options under $70, eveyone here loves the Big Typhoon which is about $50-60, the Zalman 9500 is what I am using and it seems to be doing really well (had it for a few days) and it was $60.....

Both of these mount to the board with secure screw mounts, not clips like the stock ones, so if you're having a mounting issue that should solve it as well.......

Ok this is getting very frustrating I have now purchased a vortex coolermaster and installed it an now when I boot it does the post but dosnt show jack squat on the screen the hsk was kinda big and its cooling fins are touching the northbridge graphics hsk I didnt think that would matter but I also think it is really close to some capaciters and the iron rings that have insulated wire wrapped around them ?? I will try to post a pic but I dont know... :withstupi edit I have coverd capacitors with teflon
