I do. My brother does and some friends who have dualies and go to Lan Parties do.

Maybe if you are running your system you want water-cooling and don't move your system around much and wish to keep an eye on the water security but there are negatives to water-cooling as well and your question almost seems as though you have not even thought through to of any of them. Well, they are there and each to their own right?

I Lan Party a couple of times a month and no way am I going to be running wet.

Not that your post says I am doing so but just to be clear. I have been speaking to ATi cards. The X1900XT/XTX are loud cards and I mentioned this. I then spoke to the water-cooling question which was not card maker specific.

Thus I have not posted any words in this thread for one card vs another. Not that I'm sensitive though

Because the general public will mimic what it sees in the professional sector, just like in all Sports or Hobbies. If the top dog uses 2 X1900XTX's because it gives him a slight edge in professional gaming, the average Joe will want it also if he can afford it. This isn't the only expensive hobby that follows that trend, I used to be in the remote control car/truck arena. You can't imagine how expensive remote control jets or even cars can be. The general public wants the same racing engines that the top pros use, even if it's only 3% faster and triple the price. 30 fps doesn't mean much watching tv, but to a pro playing for 100 grand, it can mean the difference between lagging for 1 second or blowing up the enemy.

I went with SLi as I like to game on my 40" LCD TV whilst reclining I can not run 1600 X 1200 in F.E.A.R./Quake4 with eye-candy on that screen so I went with the dual cards.

I agree with you totally. Otherwise I would have been more than happy with a single card solution. I also think that card fan sound aside, the X1900XT is a most excellent card and in dual mode will allow anyone to play any game at full eye-candy on 1600 X 1200.
