Hello, so I had an old i3 530 and I though "why not, let me build a PC out of it". Given that the 1156 i3s are a bit old news I required to be able to overclock it to the max as well (I have some good water installed on top). Unfortunately the motherboard I had with it was capped at/around 170 BCLK, no matter how much I'd lower the multi, no matter how much I would up the voltage it'll never go to anything more than 170Mhz.

So I gave it (my old mobo) the boot and bought Katana GTI (I was happy enough to find it too cheap on a sale). To my dismay though even though I have upgraded to the latest bios this board doesn't overclock either. In fact this time around I'm capped at 175Mhz, and no matter whether I lower my RAM's frequency, up the voltages, lower my CPU's multi, it instantly locks up at anything close to 180Mhz BCLK.

I bought this board due to its reviews and this thread mainly. It was supposed to max at 220Mhz BCLK, now I'm 20% lower that, what's wrong? Why does this board's overclocking abilities seem to be pants and what the h*ll did you guys do to get the overclocks you got?

PS: Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I needed to given that only now I bought the board...
Thanks.

P.P.S: It's absolutely ridiculous in fact... I cannot change the multiplier not even a tiny bit before the mobo goes crazy on me and boot loops... Do you guys know any bios that *actually* overclock this board? I'm using the latest (P07, released in late 2010) but apparently it's too problematic and I'm not sure where I can search for dependable bios for this board...
