What linux Distro for aged Laptop?

Thread Starter
My girlfriend decided she wants my old laptop. So I am going to give it to her. She is somewhat computer savy and has seen me use linux and has played with it herself. I decided that since the laptop has aged hardware I should get her started on linux. My laptop specs are intel Celeron 700mhz with 64mb of ram and 10gig hdd. So far I have tried Puppy linux and it failed to install to hard drive properly. I tried Kubuntu adn it was too slow. At the moment we have DSL 2.2 on it and it runs fine but she doesn't like the apearance too much. Any recomendations. Needs to be relatively simple to use and needs to look and run Ok on the above mentioned hardware.

Thanks

Try normal Ubuntu. Not the knowledge version.

Get the live cd and test it.

Redhat runs best on my P2. It had all the drivers and recognized my hardware.

I had problems with Ubuntu, the "Live" version worked but the "Install" wouldn't boot.

Debian didn't work completly because of no drivers.
