no it uses the STMicroelectronics OS MLT 04 optical sensor. the sensor has negative acceleration and can't handle some high resolutions.
the Razer Boomslang CE, Diamondback 3G and Salmosa use the Avago 3688 optical sensor but they don't have any on-board memory so the firmware cannot be flashed which makes the Razer DeathAdder 3G unique. all the problems these mice have are corrected on the Razer DeathAdder 3G.
the Razer DeathAdder 3G would be my first choice however if you are looking for a bang for your buck mouse the Gigabyte GM-M8000 uses the Avago 6090 laser sensor the same as the Logitech G9 and Roccat Kone but instead of scaling up to 3200 DPI it can scale up to 4000 DPI for both X and Y axis. it's also got rubber siding for grip, nylon cord, extra teflon feet included in box, on-board profiles, macro editing, on the fly dpi, weight system, horizontal and vertical scrolling. the sensor has negative acceleration. you can buy it for $49.99 on newegg reason I mention this is because the Logitech G9 is more expensive and not everyone likes it's asymmetrical shape and the Roccat Kone is sold for $89.99.
