DVD Burner is possessed!

Man I got this thing today stick it in and the first thing it does is eject on its own! I try to close it and it just opens itself again. When its plugged in it doesn't seem to get past the POST screen.

Its a Pioneer 110, I had to move my hard drives down a bit too for the new gfx card and now the slave drive refuses to be detected.

Any ideas?

Make sure the cables are in the correct order. Make sure the jumper is fully in and in the correct spot. Make sure the IDE cables are plugged in corectly to the motherboard. Just double check. Update drivers for CDrom.

Ok the hard drive is sorted out so no worries there, the burner is still doing its own thing tho.

Its currently on slave while the CDRW is on master, I'll try switching them round tomorrow and see if that helps. I can't flash with firmware or anything since its not actually being detected and yea its letting me boot into Windows ok.

Why don't you set your jumpers to Cable Select, This is what I use, Lite-On CD-RW/ DVD-Rom Combo, Pioneer 16x DL DVD-R/ DVD-RW

O I'd already tried cable select and it didn't work. This is really strange tho isn't it? A drive opening on its own??

Pretty sure its in the right way since theres a notch in the connector to make sure its only possible to connect it the right way round, I will double check when i get home anyways.
