Is your RAM on a divider. If not the MHz(frequency) maybe to high, and causing your value RAM to become unstable.

If you are running BF2 on all high settings that is what is causing it. The details are more dependant on system RAM as opposed to your graphics card. Turn your details down to medium-low and it should alleviate a lot of the skipping.

The reason it is skipping is because it is writing data to your HD on the page file since you do not have enough RAM for BF2 to make it happy.

I second that. If you are playing bf2 with only 1 gig of ram you are missing out on valuable resourses that the game really does need. You will be amazed at the shorter loading times and smoothness of the game, you might not get any more frames but the overall feel is just better. 2 gig with good ping times and you are set for a good battle.
