Be more specific. What chips are you considering?

But in general, probably go Athlon, now that the Opty prices are jacked. Apparently the 3700+ is doing quiet well lately, if you're looking for that range. If you want something around the 3000+ venice range, my 144 does 2.8ghz stable(so far, gonna try a little more soon).

So be a little more specific, tell us if price matters, etc.

if it's $500 just for a processor, i'd shoot for a 170. higher multiplier then a 165. i'm not exactly sure what the conversion rate of USD to CAD so it might not fit in your budget.

prices

You already have a 4000? I wouldn't buy another socket 939 then, just hold off for now.
