That's actually a very common issue, I was having the exact same problem, kept getting blue screen, if you go to the msi forum and do a quick search you should see a lot of ppl are also having this issue. try clock your ram a bit slower than the advertised number and maybe higher timings too, that should work.

Thanks for answering my post. I must have missed it because I searched all over the internet and couldn't find a solution to this. Unfortunately I sent the motherboard off for RMA. We'll see if I get the same thing again with the next one. Do you know why we have to mess with the ram in order for this to work?

Here are two of the posts I found from the msi forum with blue screen issues, there are more posts about that if you just do a quick search on the forum.

most of them just replace with another motherboard or memory, maybe its just because the motherboard is not compatible with your ram. Too bad mine already past the 30 days rma period, now im just waiting for new bios. You're not alone on this, as I said this is a very common issue, chances are you will have the same problem with your new board.

well after living with this board for a few months now since I flashed the bios to 1.6 I have had no problems with it I have had my 1090t up to 4.2 ghz but not real keen about the voltage I need to get there but @ 4 ghz not much voltage increase and my temps are really nice 26c idle and 38 after 1-2 hours of gaming I'm not quite sure if there are some bum boards out there but I have also built a system for my buddy using same board and PII 955 it is also overclocked to 3.6 using a zalman 9700 and it seems to be stable aswell nither of these systems have had any crashes running @4.0 and 3.6 respectivly both are also using same memory my system is quad fire and the other is radeon 5790 1 gig version not sure why so many are having problems with these boards
I really love mine

Farewell guys, I'm off to the Asus Crosshair IV club. Delivered about 2 hours ago, just now finished installing all the drivers and everything. I should have bought this motherboard from the start, it's frickin' sweet!

If they sent it back, then there was no problem. RAM incompatibilities are not convered by MSI, nor are they considered a problem when doing an RMA. It's unfortunate, but that's just how it is. Either figure out how to make your RAM compatible via BIOS settings, or sell the RAM and buy some that is compatible.

I would recommend creating an account on the MSI forum and posting there. You might also want to track down the RAM QVL pdf document for that motherboard, I browsed it before purchasing everything for my build because I wanted to be sure my choice of RAM worked with the board.
