I am having some problems with trying to get my PC to boot after purchasing an additional 4 GB of Patriot Sector 5 PVV34G2500C9K (2500 Mhz) ram.

My system originally had 4GB of the Patriot Sector 5 PVV34G2500C9K ram (2500Mhz) and I recently purchased another 4GB of the PVV34G2500C9K ram (for a total of 8GB of ram) and have installed it but I am not able to get my system to boot / post.

The motherboard (MSI 890FXA-GD70) has a Debug LED Panel (as you already know) that displays FF when I have all 4 memory banks filled.

I verified that the new ram is functional by removing the original 4 GB and placing the new 4 GB kit in it's place and the system booted up fine.

I then placed all 8 GB back into the memory slots and attempted to boot up again with no luck. The Debug LED Panel again is displaying FF.

Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

System Configuration:

Motherboard: MSI 890FXA-GD70
OS: Windows 7 64bit Professional
Video Card: XFX ATI 5770 XXX Edition
CPU: AMD Phenom X6 1090T Black Edition
Power Supply: CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-850HX 850W
RAM: 4 / 8 GB of Patriot Sector 5 PVV34G2500C9K DDR3 PC20000 (2500 Mhz)
Hard Drives: 2 OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSS (RAID 0)
Hard Drives: 4 Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB drives (RAID 5)
Optical Drive: Pioneer BDR-206
have you tried seating 2 sticks in the other slot to see if the slots are bad?

3-) Power Circuitry can be overloaded by high clocked 6 Core CPU's and thus is not advised to run with them.

only if your vcore is above 1,55/1,6v, and at 4 ghz you should be veeeeery unlucky to have it rs with that voltage... let's say at 4 ghz it's practically impossible

sorry for the late reply but thanks! I don't plan to overclock to over 3.8 anyway! I wonder if I can do it without getting the voltages over the safe level!

Hi everyone!
I've got a problem with my rig. Sometimes it hangs on POST when detecting USB or SATA devices. After reset it boots ok. I've tried changing or removing some components, upgraded BIOS from 1.4 to 1.7 to 1.8.6 and nothing. It hangs rarely but it's annoying and sometimes I have to reset it 2-3 times.
What should I do?
