NEW BIOS IS A NO GO, wont let me boot stock

edit: didnt like my RAM running at normal clocks... it ran fine on old bios, even though they "improved ram support"

Updated my bios, and RAM overclocking is the same. I really wish they could add a higher RAM multiplier, my 1090t doesn't like FSB overclocks at all.

Can I connect this MoBo to a HT receiver?

I just bought a ASUS Xonar Essence STX. Should I return it if I'm getting a receiver?

If your graphics card has hdmi that will pass your desired setup 5.1,7.1,etc. and your receiver has hdmi in for the digital signal you can bypass having an add-on sound card. I have the above setup for my HTPC and the built-in sound card disabled in the bios.

Also is anyone having problems with S3 sleep mode and disabling the extra sata controller. I want to disable the extra controller but the system acts like it is starting to sleep but never gets all the way, only freezes with black screen and fans still running requiring a hard reboot. Could be a windows 7 issue though I doubt it.

Digital only for the above if you are doing analog to receiver go ahead with the better ASUS card.

Wow, so I can use optical out from the MoBo or HDMI out from the video card. Thank, you so much. I would rep you but I don't know how.

Now...I just have to sell a brand new Essence STX that I got in the mail.

You will most likely need the newest drivers from ati or nvidia (under custom install from ati there is an option to install the hdmi audio, basic install might do it automatically I don't know). You will also need to make sure your audio settings in windows are correct as well. I would use the hdmi route as you have the potential for less cables and you can disable onboard sound and free up resources. Let us know how it turns out.
