Getting a system around ~500$cnd

Hello, i am kind of new in sound system of computer world. but i would like just to have a great sound system in my room. my price range is around 500 canadian, lets say about 430~usd. How far and good i can go with these? i would like a 5.1 system and i have to buy a sound card. Thankx

Most definately get the Logitech Z-5500. They are cheaper, and the most amazing satellite speaker setup you can possibly buy. It even can act as a home theater sound system. Trust me man, you will be thouroughly satisfied with these speakers. I'd know. I have 'em.

For speaker systems, I recommend the Z-5300s or the Z-5500s and pair it with either a Audigy 2 ZS or an X-Fi. I think you can do Z-5300s with X-Fi or Z-5500s with Audigy 2 ZS, but I would say that the best speaker system would be the Z-5500s with an X-Fi Fitality or something close, but that would be way out of your budget. But, that's just a couple of suggestions.

Okay guys.. i have bought the logitech z5500 with SB X-Fi extrememusic...

THIS TOTALY AMAZED ME.. !!

i cant beleive how clear and rich the sound are... i have 5.1 altec lasing with fortissmo II sound card before.. it wasnt bad but this update just damn changed my gaming life. The sound in bf2.. all i can say is "WOW.." JUST... OMGFHGG!! love it!
