Possible Security Problem

Hi Guys

Trying to play the music on my computer, for some reason it keeps on getting corrupted and when i try to play some music, it will show me an extract of a video clip of a movie i was watching about 3 weeks ago.

It has done it 3 times in 3 months and i try to play my music video clips and they reckon they corrupted

Try reinstalling the program you're using...

Do you have AntiVirus and AntiSpyware software? If so what is it?

ok, i use 3 different media players and if there was a prob with 1 of them, the other 2 would play it ok, but when this error occurs, none of them want to play the file

the media players I am using are as follows


Windows Media Player 9
Winamp 5.12
Creative Media Source Player

the security system I am using are as follows

AVG Anti-Virus 7.0
Kerio Personal Firewall
Lavasoft Adaware SE Personal
SpyBot Search and Destroy 1.4
SpyWare Guard
Sygate Personal Firewall.

What about checking for BIOS and driver updates? Wait, you just switched cases? You might have broken something... Check that stuff and if that's not it then look at getting a new sound card.

BIOS and my drivers are fine, i didnt just switch a new case and my sound card works perfectly, i have all my MP3's on a DVD and when it gets corrupted, i usually overwrite them with the ones on the dvd, and they work perfectly after that, then something happens after a month or so and they start to play video extracts

It sounds like you have either a bad install of Windows or your HDD is effing up. Run a full chkdsk scan on your HDD to rule that out.
