The best AGP card is 320, so prolly 330 with shipping.....so i would go with the 7800GS because in benchmarks it has dominated all other cards....

Yes, as we've been saying the 7800GS is the best you can get without buying a new motherboard, and a good motherboard will run you about +$140 USD so, get the 7800GS [same one I plan on getting (hopefully)] and you'll be set.

I hate playing Devil's advocate, but...are you sure that 3GHz Pentium is a good match for a 7800GS? It just seems that most people with that high-end of a grahics card have a CPU that will match it. Like an Athlon x64

Oh your 3.0 is perfect for it, wont bottleneck at all, and maybe you could even overclock the 3.0 to maybe 3.4/3.6

*3.0 P4 is like a 2.0 athlon 64, so if you go to 3.6 it would be like approximitly a 2.4 athlon 64 so a 3700+....

Spend the extra money after the vid. card on a new gig of ram. 2gbs will be needed soon and they will last u a long time.

Thanks for that Nugget. Why is there such a price difference between all the 7800GS's on that site? The lowest I found were around $450, while the highest were around $600?
http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/...rt=81&links=20

BTW I'm very excited - my dad is giving me $500 to buy a graphics card for my birthday, so looks like I can get it a lot sooner than I thought
In fact, I can order it as soon as I'm sure which one to order...
