Problems installing drivers

I go to install the 6.2 drivers for my ati 9700 and ut first says "INF error video drivers not found" and then when i click ok it says "Try setting up with standard VGA drivers installed." What do i do

You downloaded them straight from ATI's site?

Ya im trying a different site and downloadin catalyst 6.1 not 6.2 and see wat happens

Ok, if they don't work as well. Try Omegadrivers.net they have performance tweaked versions of ATi and nVidia drivers.

It still says it with the driver off omaga drivers i dunno what to do!!!!

Try doing it this way.

Extract the files out to a local folder.

Go into device manager (right click My computer click on properties select the hardware tab and click on device manager).

Expand the display adapter section and right click on your video card and select update driver.

Select the install from a specific location radio button and click next.

Select the bottom radio button that says Don't search I will choose the driver to install and then click next.

Select have disk and find the driver file you extracted earlier.

Double click it and hit next and it should begin updating the file.

If you didn't extract the driver updates from the zip file that might have been your problem. If not, this procedure should let you update your drivers.

Is the problem that it is for a mobility 9700?? anyways if i dont install these drivers will it hinder my overclocking to the point at which there is no point??

Try that link. The standard Radeon's do not support the mobiles.

Well then that would be the problem. Is it even worth it to overclock my graphics card then?? If not i see a home made gaming MACHINE in my future.

I may have solved the problem there is a possibilty for the mobile card i just have to get the latest updates from toshiba. I will see if that works
