Better and cheaper then x1600

Hey there guys well ive been going to get a x1600 pro and wondered if i were making a mistake and if thers a better card out the for the same price or cheaper?

Is the pro better than the XT? I think that the XT or whatever is better than it will serve you well. The X1600 scored higher than the X800GTO and the 6600GT in Anand's review of 3DMark06.

how much you looking to spend? ive been looking at x1600xt aswell.

Well around a £ 100 at max and for that i can get the x1600 pro 512 mb...the xt costs abit too much.

Yeah the gddr 3 is attractive but its only 128mb

I wouldn't get the 512MB version. Card's probably not powerful enough to handle all of that memory.

as laboitenoire said, the x1600 is kinda starved of mem bandwith any ways so you may as well save a few pennys an get a 256mb version.
for £100 i think thats bout the best your going to get, could get a nilla 6800 but i think that the x1600pro maybe a lil faster then that.

Hmm interesting i may get the ddr3 256 version ..not sure though toughy really because thats more expensive then the 512 version and yeah i know the 512 version is ddr2
