Thread Starter
I want skype - i hear only good things.

My friends are getting it too. Does anyone have anything to point out?

Does it take up too much bandwidth etc.

Like any VoIP product, the more bandwidth the better... of course once you hit the ISP link you're in the hands of the traffic as they don't provide any QOS on normal links / services. Skype is a good tool and even works across a wireless link.

It's a good program. Just like a messanger. If you pay a little, you can call ordinary phones, too. Pretty cool, eh?

I recommended to some friends, but they're never on. lol.

I guess I meant as an economic alternative--is the little bit extra one must pay plus the regular service fee way lower than LD service (like 60-80 bucks a month for me)--I guess I will look into it and see...

EDIT: here's the link for those interested: http://www.skype.com/

I see you need SkypeOut and they are developing a beta SkypeIn--where you buy a subscription for a phone number and then pay for a monthly service--looks pretty good.
