I tried a dual-display setup a while ago and when I was playing CS:S on one screen with the other showing some temp monitors I would get skips in CS:S ever 5 seconds or so. I upped the apature size to 256 MB in the BIOS and the skipping went away. I didnt see any FPS decrease, however, so it seems that the only thing that takes more of is RAM.

your Card should have 2 connections for video, use either VGA or DVI...I dont have a 6600 so I dont know if it's DVI/DVI or DVI/VGA, either way plug in the other monitor to the input that is not being used

Then go into your video settings and click "Extended Desktop" and bam you got more space

Have 2 monitors up for gaming is not all that great since having other other monitor up takes away resources and sometime if you move your mouse outside teh gaming area the cursor goes to the other screen rendering you inable to move in the game

You can always disable the second monitor when you go to play a game... This is actually a good thing to do -- like GatorLCA said, if you move to the second screen in a game it'll kick out of the game and back to your desktop, or it'll stop you from being able to control the game without switching back to it from the task bar or task manager.

You probably could use a little more RAM but that really won't make a difference as it's the RAM on the video card that's more important here.

Day to day 512MB is fine. For gaming the standard is pretty much 1GB

If you are wanting to game on it, I would suggest 1 screen as I mentioned before becasue games will crash and get all screwy if you try it with both monitors on
