Amd 3700+ 754

Ok, i've been reading up on OC'ing my 3700+, and have tried my best to do it. I have learned about the HTT, and how it should equal about 800 when multiplied by the fsb and all that stuff. But i can't seem to get the stupid thing to OC. 205 is as high as i can get the FSB with the normal multiplier, i got it to 240 with a multiplier of 10(didn't gain anything). I have OCZ ddr500 ram so that shouldn't be the problem. and my LCD Temp readout never gets above 32 degrees C so that dosn't seem to be it.

Any tips or advice you could throw my way to help me out?

Questions: How low can the HTT X FSB go and be ok? How high can it go with no damage? And what would the Ideal range be?

Im truely lost as to where to go next, even at 210 FSB 4x HTT 12X Multiplier and a 2 to 2 FSB/Ram Ratio (Ram at 420mhz out of a rated 500) It won't even boot into windows.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Drop HTT to 3.

There are tons of options with RAM. Have you dropped the RAM on a divider to find the FSB max?

Definitely drop the htt multi to 3X. If it still doesn't boot, try going one notch up on your Vcore, you won't get very far at all on stock voltage on clawhammer cores.

I haven't dropped the ram down yet, and when i drop the HTT to 3 it usualy dosn't post. How high does it need to equal to be in the ok range.

I have a Gigabyte GA-K8NS pro F13 mobo by the way, if that helps and my multiplier only goes by even numbers, no .5's

Not familer with that motherboard, mine I have my htt at 2.5, 12xmulti, 1.5vcore, memory 1/1 3 5 5 10, vdimm 2.8.

Try these settings, raise the fsb untell it fails to boot then a little more vcore.

There is a FAQ on the site that will help you to find your max's for the ram, motherboard and cpu.

Also make sure thermal throtling is disabled, and spread sectrum. turn off cool&quit also.

Hope this helps.

Not the multipliers, but the htt setting if it won't go to 2.5, then try 2.

You mean the HTT Multiplier correct, it ranges from 1-5? if i go to 2, i will need a fsb of 400mhz to reach the recomended 800. How much below that can you go and be stable? (Im new to the HTT thing, sorry to be a pain haha)

there's no reason to drop down to 2 until your htt passes approaching 267mhz. Leave it at 3X. Have you tried increasing your Vcore yet?
