Best 92mm fan out!

post #1 of 7
Thread Starter
Just received my fm92 by Silverstone. Ive had a fm82 for around 6 months and have loved it to death. Thing pushes mad air. When i saw the fm92 released a little bit back i wanted one bad, but only recently did it go on sale at the egg.

The fm92 is a 92mm fan housing 110mm fan blades. So it fits 92mm holes but is a much larger/stronger fan. Plus it comes with a fan controller which lets it go from 80cfm and screming to 19db sanity.

For anyone who needs a 92mm exhaust or heatsink fan, this thing is your answer. But be aware that the blades are bigger than stander 92mm so you wont be able to stack this things vertically if you have 2 92mm exhaust openings.

A++++ get one now.

Max power - 7.2w
Speed - 1800-3800rpm
Airflow - 80.92cfm max
noise - 19db - 48.6db

Sanity = priceless

Of course, unless... Unless you don't mind doing a bit of cable work, and you don't care about noise at all. If that's the case, go get yourself a Delta 92x38mm TFB0912UHE. 142CFM! AHAHAHAHA! 62db! AHAHAHA! What? Sorry... I'm going a little deaf.

These values are based on the fan at full speed...

Speed-6000rpm
Airflow-142.20 CFM
Noise-62db
Wattage-22.80 (Yes it will probably burn your board unless you do some creative cable work. No standard 3 pin connector here... Unless you have a fire extinguisher handy.)

I love them Delta fans.

Hi What?

Thanks for the news on the FM92. I bought one today to go on my XP-90! I've been looking for a 92mm to 120mm adaptor for awhile now. Now I have it! To bad it's only in white. I'll have to mod it...

Thanks again, :-)

Hi What,

Just wanted to let you and others know here in the forum, that your post is one of a few coming up on Google and Yahoo search engines for this fan. I tried to see if there were reviews for this fan yet, and so far there isn't. Once I receive it and get it going on my case/cpu/heatsink set up, I'll post back with an update. I might have to borrow the company's dBa noise meter to see if it's really that loud. Thanks for the original post...

:-)
